The outward journey is planned over 3 days .. the first 2 days through England, France and Spain are shown (in outline) below. Lunch in Le Mans on Day 1, overnight in Bilbao. Lunch in Madrid on Day 2 and then overnight in Fuengirola (with a party of course!).

On Day 3 the crossing, via the Straits of Gibraltar (fast ferry from Algeciras to Tangier), means that the Sahara Rally proper* can begin!

Days 4 to 8 take the participants, in a clockwise direction, through Morocco, (including stays in Ifrane, Merzouga, Ouarzazate, Marrakesh and Essaouira), the Western Sahara, and back up to Tangier, before celebrating with a sumptuous party on the night before departure.

Returning on Days 9 and 10 to Cambridge.
